| Customer Testimony: by Tonya W. |
I am a quadriplegic from an auto accident and currently have no movement or feeling below my chest. I have to travel to Plano HealthSouth Rehabilitation to use the MOTOmed to better my health and life. Many rehab facilities all over the U.S. have this system to help spinal cord injured patients, MS, Parkinson's disease, brain injury, and others. The system has numerous and very significant benefits for me. It reduces the spasticity in my legs allowing me to become more flexible in my wheelchair including transfers from my hospital bed to my wheelchair and vice versa. It decreases abnormal tone and improves circulation, range of motion, strength, and increases endurance. It allows me to maintain the calcium in my bones that leaves the body when a person no longer walks or exercises.
As time has progressed and I continue to remain paralyzed, the spasms and tightness in my legs are gradually becoming worse. I have to consistently move in every position that I sit or lay. Almost every movement I make, a spasm jolts through my body like lightening from the tip of my toes to my neck not only causing pain but making it difficult to do hardly anything. In the mornings before I get out of bed, during the day as my legs remain still, and before I go to sleep, my legs need ranged and exercised for an hour at the least. Each time I have used the Motomed, my spasms have ceased, my tightness has ceased, and my body feels as if I have actually ran. It is an absolutely amazing system that I believe every injury and disease that requires attention to the legs or arms needs.
The benefits of the MOTOmed Movement Therapy are numerous as I have clarified. The influence that the MOTOmed has on my mental well-being is great in which it gives me hope and drive to maximize myself in my therapy program. The MOTOmed is necessary and essential to my mentality, physicality, and life.
Sincerely,
Tonya W.

| FES Sports Day! |
The FES Sport Day on 19th & 20th June in Glasgow brought competitors and visitors from Australia, Germany, England and Scotland to compete in various FES Sport events and to experience the latest research and development into FES technology. FES or Functional Electrical Stimulation is the technology that allows spinal cord injured individuals to independently exercise when previously their injury served as permanent obstacle to this. Sponsored by Hasomed GmbH and Anatomical Concepts (UK) Ltd, the event expanded on a similar event held for researchers in the field back in 2006. At this event, in addition to the games, participants were able to listen to speakers addressing the themes of research, personal development and product design. As the event brought together spinal cord injured persons, researchers, clinicians and business people, the discussions were lively and eye opening for many. Luke for example: " I found it extremely useful, well worth the 8-hr drive." Henrik said: "It brought a range of like-minded people together, and hopefully keeps the momentum going to get FES systems out there into the real world."
Dr Derek Jones of Anatomical Concepts (UK) Ltd said: "The FES technology combined with motorized indoor and outdoor cycles has been proven to offer new possibilities for spinal cord injured persons to make significant improvements to their general health, develop their cardiovascular fitness, build bone strength, and enjoy an athletic challenge."
